Even if we transport all the bombs to the moon, the roots of war and the roots of bombs are still there, in our hearts and minds, and sooner or later we will make new bombs. To work for peace is to uproot war from ourselves and from the hearts of men and women.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
We come together with the monastics from Plum Village to meditate for peace and to hold the pain and cries of those in Palestine, Israel and elsewhere.
This online event is organised by Buddhists across Traditions, Rainbow Sangha Ireland and PV UK.
Date: 16 November 2023 | Time: 19:00 – 20:30 GMT (Irish Time) | Free Gathering
We are all grieving for the horrors of war around the world and the escalating loss of human lives especially in the Middle East. At this time it is easy to blame the other and perpetuate the cycle of violence to others in our minds and thoughts. We know that violence cannot lead to just and peaceful solutions.
At this time, we collaborate with Buddhists across Traditions and Rainbow Sangha Ireland to host an event to meditate for peace. In peace and compassion, we open our hearts to hold the pain and cries of those in Palestine and Israel and elsewhere. May the energy we cultivate together contribute to the collective for reconciliation and peaceful just solutions.
We will be joined by Plum Village Monastics from France who will lead the event with meditation, prayers and sharing.
